However you might as well come across certain situations where you need to weigh the pros and cons and use a wet saw for cutting a porcelain tile. Set your blade so that this time it will cut through the whole remaining thickness of the tile. There are several methods for cutting tiles by hand without a tile cutter using a cutting tool such as a glass cutter. If you layout any tiles for a floor or wall space be sure to install those tiles with cut edges nearest to the edge away from any middle areas. Try these suggestions out.

Firmly press the edge of the glass cutter or carbide. Place the tile on the platform with one end of the mark where you will make the cut facing the blade but don t touch.
Turn the saw on. That way even with chipping you most likely won t be able to tell or even see it especially if it gets covered up by moulding. Even with the best wet tile saws out there you can and will run into some minor chipping from time to time. Cutting slowly with a good blade on a well aligned wet saw gives the best results but in my experience there will always be some minor chipping.
